2011 is looking good so far! We have just moved to Hoxton Street office and the office in Krakow is moving in a few days to a much bigger space in the historical Jewish district. Well, this is nothing new to most of the people in the industry but we often get enquiries about hosting. One and one or 1&1 are one of the largest hosting companies in Europe. I need to clarify one thing – they are a budget hosting wholesaler. They provide quality hosting for peanuts, but most of the processes are automated. If you are interested in support, we resell their hosting with additional layer of server admin support, backup and monitoring. However, 1&1 don’t have hidden costs like other budget hosting companies. Fasthosts, Easyspace and 123reg are particularily bad – avoid!!!

We recommend cloud servers which can be upgraded any time from the control panel. We have two of them and one older dedicated server, which will be replaced soon. If you need email solutions, hosted MS Exchange is very cost effective and works surprisingly well. Shared hosting is not too bad at all if you need to host a small website.

We just went back a hundred years and created an old school desktop application! Refreshing trip back to the old school times. Check out more details here.

The Reel asked us for a replacement for the DVD they used to send out each month. We created an offline application based on Flash Player featuring PC and Mac installer and fast electronic file delivery using YouSendIt.

The result is a very fast and user friendly desktop application allowing to watch hours of ads and short movies, even if the internet connection is not available. It is fully configurable using external XML file and content folders with video clips and images. And it’s very fast – much faster than the web or DVD disc, which was the objective.

We decided that it would be nice to get out there and do something interesting. And get extra office space at the same time, and meeting facilities close to Old Street. The Cube is a very interestig place, it’s a business centre which manages to avoid the corporate and feels more like a creative club. And it’s next to Spitafields. All good news!

Scissorhands is a website presenting work of a London based video production team, designed from scratch and developed by us. Well, the opening video was produced by guys from Scissorhands in our studio. It’s a very successful and quite advanced Wordpress implementation, featuring a lot of custom functionality. It’s also easy to update and search engine friendly.
