about

We make difficult websites. Easily.

We build and implement all digital projects.
Ranging from the large to the small but infernally complicated. We cover all aspects of the web development process – design, site architecture, server maintenance and hosting, front-end and back-end coding, testing and development.

We also evolve, maintain and repair existing websites.
Believe it or not but around 30-40% of the work we do is actually cleaning up after the less experienced or the lazy ones.

We work for agencies and clients.
Long or short term. Directly for the clients or as an external web team for agencies.

And we have great advantage.
We’re very well organised. We’ve maintained our manageable size and only grow organically. This means you receive top notch service and expertise. You talk to human beings and only pay close-to-freelance rates.

We use open source.
We don’t like wasting time and money, therefore we mainly use support open source technologies. We are helping to grow the open source community with donations and we encourage the others to do the same.

The Qrupa story

patrickqrupa

Qrupa means basically myself, Patrick Krupa and my cutting edge team. The organisation was officially started in January 2009, but the corporate entity was first registered by my partner, Hallvard, and I in 2006 as Fyord Ltd.

My personal story goes: At 15 I started helping out my Dad with screenprinting and darkroom pre-press, a few years later leased a printing press and worked as product designer, photographer, art director, you name it. At the age of 25 I became a Board Member of a publishing house that very soon closed down as a result of a side-business, a techno club. Around 1990 I started a small language school that still exists. Finally, having connected my first dial-up modem, I got into the almighty Internet.

Now I have 15+ years experience in the industry. I used to lead web teams and was put in charge of large corporate intranets, web applications and IT projects. I worked in a few agencies; in the last one I created and led a web team for 4 years.

Much more to come in this section, I’m about to reveal a lot of great projects I’ve been involved in, but also a lot of very shameful pieces!
